Faith Reflection:  Mercy—Love in action

Last week in talking about the movie that will be shown for Cinema for the Soul this month I said that God reaches out to us always, but it is up to us to take hold of his hand to allow his grace to transform our lives.  To this I add what Archbishop Gomez said in a tweet on Monday; “Let us pray that our Blessed Mother may help us all to know the greater things for which we are born.”  As a mother Mary wants only the best for us; she knows how powerful God’s grace is and how our lives will be transformed into something extraordinary that will enable us to do amazing things.  As we pray the rosary as part of the Flores de Mayo novena, or just talk to Our Blessed Mother in a quiet moment this week, we can ask for her help in showing us how to trust in Jesus and take hold of his hand.

Our 7th grader also reminds us to trust, not fear, because God loves everyone.

I can evangelize God by telling others how God will love them even though they don’t believe in him.  Also, I can tell people God created us.  To others I can tell them they can go to God when they are afraid of something, or when they want to talk to him.

I can tell people to not be afraid of God because he will help them when they need him.  God will always be with you when you need him.  God loves every one of us.

For those who can’t make the evening rosary novena here at our parish you might consider joining Bishop Barnes for a May Crowning Rosary and Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral in San Bernardino.  This Mass, Wednesday, May 17th, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions, begins at 9am with the rosary preceding it at 8am.  A light reception follows.

Father Manny from Our Lady of Hope Parish has his new schedule of Masses of Life and Reparation.  The next Mass is May 27th near 1873 Commercenter West in San Bernardino (near Planned Parenthood).  The Masses rotate between two sites with the June 10th Mass being near 855 E. Hospitality Lane (near Family Planning Associates), San Bernardino.  These Saturday Masses are all outdoors and begin at 9am.

   Thank you.  Mrs. Alhadef
