Welcome to 3rd grade!!! I have been teaching 3rd grade at Sacred Heart Academy since 2005. I graduated from Cal State San Bernardino in 2002 with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and a minor in music and I earned my teaching credential from the University of Redlands.  I have been a parishioner at Holy Name of Jesus since 1978.  My husband, Roger, and I were married here.  My son attended Sacred Heart Academy from kindergarten through eighth grade!   So, needless to say, my family is very committed to this parish and school.  I truly enjoy teaching 3rd grade and try to make learning fun, engaging, and relevant.

INFORMATIONAL MEETING FOR BOY SCOUTS

Please see flyer for information about Cub Scout informational meeting scheduled for tomorrow night.

Greetings from 3rd Grade!

We have completed our first week of school!  It has been fun getting to know all of your children this past week and meeting some of you at the Back-to School Night.  This week we really start getting down to work in all of our subjects.  Here are just a few notes, reminders, comments that I need to share with you that have come up since the start of school:

  • Please subscribe to BOTH my page and the 3rd grade homework page.  When I post homework, it will show up only on the homework page and not on the regular class page.
  • If you have not turned in the Purple Student Info sheet and the Pink I Think You Should Know sheets, please send them in ASAP.
  • Scootpad homework was assigned today.  Your student should be able to start working on their assignments.  You, as families, do not need to upgrade the subscription for your student to use this website.
  • When picking up your student, please either say "Hello" or just wave at me to let me know that you have your student.  I want to make sure I know where all the kids are at the end of the day.
  • Planner money is due this Friday and is $5 (not the $4 listed on the supply list) Thank you to the families that have already paid.
  • This Friday, Sept 5th is a minimum day and it is also a non-uniform day.  Please look at the parent handbook for guidelines for dressing on non-uniform days.

I think that is all for now!  I am blessed to have this class this year ~ They are so sweet and eager to learn!

Welcome to 3rd Grade!

Well, the first day of school is in the books!  We had a great start to this year.  What a sweet class this is.  Now the real work starts tomorrow!!!  :)

As we were collecting the supplies, it occurred to me that there were two things left of the list!!!  Oh no!  If you could please be so kind and send with your student one roll of paper towel and two containers of wet wipes/ Clorox wipes.  Sorry about the omission.

I am looking forward to being with your students this school year!

Welcome to 3rd Grade!

I hope that you have had a wonderful summer vacation!  I am looking forward to teaching (and learning from) this class.  There will be a lot of work and plenty of fun!  I look forward to working with all families to ensure that each student will be successful in 3rd grade.

See you on Monday, August 25th!!!

Parent Volunteer Hours Opportunity!!!

There are some things that I would like to have for the classroom (as do all teachers!!! ).  I am needing some storage crates and they are on sale this week at Target!!!   If anyone is able to pick these up for me, I would be grateful!  I would like to have a total of 12 - 15 crates.  They need to be purple, black, and/or lime green (any combination of these three colors).  No other colors please.  For every $23 you spend, you receive 1 hour of volunteer credit.  If you are able to get these for me, please email me at [email protected]

These crates will eventually be turned into seats/storage for the kidney tables in the classroom. (That is another volunteer opportunity!!! More on this later.)

Thank you so much!!!

Class of 2013-2014

I hope you enjoy these memories of 3rd grade. If you cannot start the video from right here, please click the video link on the right.

It is the end of the year!  Can you believe it???  This means it's time to do some clean up the classroom for the summer.  If your student is #1-15, please have them bring a box of 2 Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.  If your student is #16-22, please bring in a canister of disinfecting wet wipes.  And if your student is #23-29, please provide a roll of paper towels.  Each student needs to bring in a plastic grocery bag.  I would like the students to bring these items in on TUESDAY, JUNE 3rd.  Thank you is very much!!!

Here is the schedule of shifts for the symposium.  The symposium runs from 5:00 - 7:30.  Your child is scheduled for only a half hour block so that you and they can enjoy going to to other classrooms.  Their duty will be a docent for anyone who comes to the classroom.  See you tomorrow!
