Benvenuti/Welcome to Miss Alhadef's Home Page for the 2023-2024 school year.

I'm so glad you stopped by to check out our wonderful school. We are celebrating our 126th year of Catholic education in Redlands. This year our school theme, along with the parish, is "This is My Body." I am truly grateful to be here and am excited for all that we will do this year.

I graduated from California State University, San Bernardino in 1989 with a degree in Geography and minor in Anthropology. I have been at Sacred Heart Academy since 2000 and have also been the aide in 1st, 3rd, 5th, and Jr. High. I also was the Extended Care Director during my first 10 years.

I'm the 4th Grade Aide, do art/religion with 7th grade on Wednesdays, sub as needed, and am Campus Minister. As Campus Minister I write a reflection for the weekly Parent Letter - this reflection is also posted under Keeping Up With Your Faith (see under Spiritual Life on the school webpage) and on the school's Facebook page. New articles for Five Minutes With Francis (see under Spiritual Life) are on hold at this time. Older articles are still available to read.

4th grade has adopted Saint Joseph as our class saint and we have resumed learning La Benedizione del Vescovo (The Bishop's Blessing) this year. We use this prayer to bless the entire school for Saint Joseph's feast day on 19 March. 4th grade also takes charge of La Tavola di San Giuseppe (the Saint Joseph's Table) that same day. The bread (usually honey pretzels) for La Tavola is given to those in need.

Lastly I'm a little angel who is all about God, dark chocolate, squirrels! (sanjab!) (where?!), art, and the Los Angeles Dodgers - Go Dodgers! I also give walking tours of Redlands (no charge).

Buonagiornata, e che Dio te benedica con pace e gioia.

San Giuseppe, prega per noi!  Santa Maria Maddalena, prega per noi!

Playground Music

4th grade's musical composition using various equipment on the field as their instruments. Morgan, Lila and Giovanna came up to me on Monday and presented their idea of doing something similar to Tower Music where Bertolozzi did this using the Eiffel Tower as his instrument. The girls did some test runs and scoping out of sites at recess and we created a basic storyboard of what we wanted to do, but we had no rehearsal time. We split the class so there weren't too many students at any one time playing. The things we used are what you find in the classroom; pencils, rulers, scissors, etc. Additionally our first film crew fell through but they found us a replacement team 20 minutes before we began filming. We thank Mrs. Misenheimer for jumping in last minute and having great intuition for what we were doing. She did a great job filming. Enjoy our video and hear our playground in a whole new way.
