Parent Letter Faith Reflection

Parent Letter Faith Reflection

Easter is the joyful celebration that Jesus conquered sin and death. Our lives are not the same when we recognize this and orient ourselves to a new reality - that Jesus lives and calls us to participate in this life.  When a friend shared a poem over Easter break this one line stood out; When I begged you to take away my pain and bring me home to you, I learned instead to recognize that you are home in me. This line showed me how, because of the resurrection, we live a life in Jesus by making room for him, and that he is home in you and in me right now. We show him he’s welcome by having open hearts and a merciful attitude towards others, accompanying them on their journey, and living a life renewed by the Beatitudes. Happy Easter.

Our 7th grader shows us how we can renew our communities, bringing new life to them, which may even make visitors want to move there.

Radical Community Care

 by Korrah

How I could help my community in an extreme way is to help donate and raise money for my community. Another way is to have a day where everyone in my community cleans up the park.

The first way to help donate and raise money for my community is by going through old clothes and toys in my house that I don’t use or play with and donate them to Good Will, or any place that collects old stuff. I can raise money by selling some pastries and lemonade around my neighborhood. I can use the money to fix the concrete and other things the community needs repaired.

The second way to help my community is to have a day where everyone in the community cleans up the park. One way we can start this is by putting up posters around the neighborhood, setting a day and time when it will happen. Once that day comes we will have trash bags, gloves, grabbers, and  a lot of people to help make the park nice and clean.

If our community takes care of the parks it is better for us and our families. When this happens it will make visitors feel good because they will have a good environment to visit and maybe they will move to my community.

Easter is definitely a joyful season and what better way to share this joy than a video that makes you smile? Enter the Easter Bunny Kitty, a fun little video that made 7th grade smile and think about how good God is: “God gives us joy through all the blessings he has given us. He rose for us and died for our sins. He continues to give us blessings everyday by giving us something called tomorrow.”; “We are all cats who are chasing our faith in God.”; “This cat is very relatable. She was upset, and then when food arrived, she was happy. This is like me, as if Jesus’ resurrection is the food.”; “Easter is a very happy time, especially for this happy little Easter bunny cat. God brings joy to me by giving me new opportunities everyday.”; “The Easter Bunny Kitty sort of represents the lively and joyful spirit of a Catholic-Christian during Easter.”
