Parent Letter Faith Reflection

All that you touch you change. All that you change, changes you. The only lasting truth is Change. God is Change. - Octavia Butler

From the Gospel accounts we know Mary Magdalene was the first person to see the risen Jesus.  Her witness to this most important event, however, is twofold. The back story is that she had her encounter with Jesus because she remained.

Peter and the beloved disciple left after they had come to the tomb and seen that it was empty. Mary Magdalene stayed. Even though she was sad she hadn't given up on finding out what had happened to Jesus. In remaining at the tomb Mary Magdalene becomes the first to tell us the impossible is possible, and she is changed.

The Easter story changes us also. Its fruits of hope and possibilities are now ours to soak up and bring to the world as Mary Magdalene did. The hope the risen Jesus brings is simply delightful, we are in debt to her for staying the course.

Showcasing 7th grade’s talents: Aidan L. shows us the risen Jesus surrounded by some of his disciples.
