The Season of Creation is celebrated in September around the world. It’s a time where gratitude for the environment comes together with faith and hope.
We are grateful for our common home in all its beauty, while our faith asks us to be good stewards of God’s creation as Pope Francis wrote in Laudato Si, 13: The global Christian family is called to awaken to the urgent need to heal our relationships with creation and with each other and to encourage our parish communities to do the same, “for we know that things can change!”
For us we can look to our SHA kids, and while we may not get an SLE from Mrs. Williams on Friday, we, too, can be Compassionate Caretakers of Creation. One way we can live out this SLE is to sign up for the Flocknote messages from the parish's Creation Care Ministry. Their next month community cleanup will be Saturday, 24 September 2021. Details should be in this weekend’s bulletin.
