Parent Letter Faith Reflection

This week 7th grade was in charge of the prayer service while our diocesan priests were at their convocation. They chose the theme, wrote the prayers and reflection, and chose the readings. I will share this today.

Introduction (Saylor): Good morning and welcome to our prayer service. Today’s theme is about being transformed. To be transformed means to renew your mind and to change for the will of God./ “The World and society have patterns, or ways, that lead to a broken life. These patterns, or routines, are often performed mindlessly, without any consideration of our actions or their consequences; however, we are not stuck with them.” said AG Faith Chapel./ God is willing to transform us if we are open to his will for our lives.

Opening Prayer (Angelina/Nate): Lord, I worship you. Help me transfigure my spiritual life that I may walk on the path of faith. I ask for your forgiveness for all my sins because I am crucified with you. Amen.

Gospel Reflection (Jeremiah): In today's prayer service the theme is transformation. I’m going to relate this concept to a story we are all familiar with, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. How many of you have read the story about The Very Hungry Caterpillar? For those who have not, the story shows that change is a part of life. It reveals how the caterpillar goes through small changes little by little. He grows as he eats more and more each day, and then, by the end of the story, he is transformed into a beautiful butterfly. We can also relate this story to our own life because change is part of living. The more we grow in our faith the more we will see small changes in our life until, like the caterpillar that changed in to a beautiful butterfly, we will also change into the image that God has created us to be.

Prayers of the Faithful (Gabby A., Nate, Ethan): We pray for all who wish to strengthen their relationship with God./We pray for people who have not yet sought Jesus in their life, that they may find the eternal life of Christ./We pray that the Lord open our eyes, ears, and minds. May we be compassionate to others.

Showcasing SHA talent: Charlie in 1st does a lovely job of showing how fall transforms trees.
