Parent Letter Faith Reflection

This month is Women’s History Month and we will turn to 8th grade Isabel who won first place in religion last Saturday. About a week before the decathlon Isabel also had to submit an essay on the topic ‘courage.’ Here is her empowering essay, edited to fit this space:

Courage is a highly powerful benefit that is not needed but definitely an advantage to succeed and reach goals. The attribute of courage is such a concrete element that can be portrayed in various ways...I believe that courage should not be considered a “negative” or “stuck up” trait, because courage is a beautiful advantage that can be the difference between success and failure. In my opinion, courage is the ability to stay true to yourself and beliefs, it is the power that can help you reach your goals, and it is the effect that can help you overcome even the most difficult events in life.

Although courage is difficult to find in doubtful people, the ability to stay fearless and confident in any situation is definitely an advantage that can help anyone strive for success. Without courage, it can be hard for one to take part in experiences that can drastically affect the future, in hopefully positive ways...However, in times of doubts, there is always an answer: courage can be found within faith and trust in God. Even when no one else believes or has faith in you, courage can be found in God, who has a purpose for everyone and everything that comes across in your life.

Along with gaining faith in yourself, having the ability to overcome fear or regret is an attitude that can be further shared with others for the benefit of society...Having a courageous attitude in every situation can help you “rub off” on those around you who may need it most. Being courageous can help one go through the toughest times...Courage is not only an advantaged trait, but also an attitude that comes into play in various opportunities or situations. Courage is an attribute that can be the difference between success and failure, gain or loss
