God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress...Be still and know that I am God/Dios es nuestro refugio y fortaleza, socorro siempre a mano en momentos de anguistia...Paren y reconozcan que soy Dios.—Psalm/Salmo 46: 2,11
Last month when our priests were at their convocation I turned to Mia in 6th grade to give a homily at our school prayer service. She was up for the task and did a fabulous job tying the readings (Isaiah 41:14, Mark 4:35-41) into our everyday experience. You will benefit from her wisdom:
Jesus says, “Why were you afraid? Don’t you have faith?” I know it’s hard to have faith when nothing is going your way; I’m sure this has happened to all of you. It has happened to me many times; "But if Jesus was real he would let my parents get me this toy." No he would not! If Jesus thought it was good for you he would, but he didn’t. Don’t question Jesus. He knows what he’s doing. Just like in the Gospel Jesus will help you when get stuck in the mud, or when you’re wandering off your path. Don’t question him. The question to ask your self is if you will let him help you get out of the mud and get back on your path.
Showcasing SHA talent: With her great riding skills, Alex in 7th won't get stuck in the mud.
