Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage./Ser amado profundamente por alguien te da fuerza, mientras que amar profundamente a alguien te da corajo - Lao Tzu
In the Gospel of Luke we join two disciples as they head away from Jerusalem where Jesus has been crucified. On the road to Emmaus Jesus joins them and begins opening scripture to them though they don't recognize him at this point. Later, as they arrive at their destination, they ask Jesus to stay with them. At the meal Jesus takes bread, says a blessing and breaks it. At this the disciples recognize him but Jesus vanishes from their sight. In amazement the two say to each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened scriptures to us?"
“Jesus came to show us the human face of divinity and to reveal the real-life components of love,” Lorraine V. Murray wrote in The Georgia Bulletin. We are not going to have Jesus visibly walk along side us but our actions will show that our hearts are burning within. Love is action, and as Julia Child said, “The story of a love is not important—what is important is that one of capable of love. It is perhaps the only glimpse we are permitted of eternity.”
