Principal's Letter Faith Reflection

“Human compassion and empathy are not something additional or optional, but are a call from God to reflect God’s goodness in our daily lives,” Pope Leo said in a speech in May. "Compassion and empathy can be instruments as they have the power to restore the dignity of the other.” Later, in his homily on the Feast of the Assumption he added, “Love is humanity’s most beautiful adornment. Love transfigures, transforms, ennobles, and lifts us up, making us light, free, and close to God, even amid life’s ups and down,”
To have compassion and empathy become instruments for good we can keep Alfred Adler’s words in mind: Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another.
Jesus saw Nathaniel coming toward him and said of him, “Here is a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in him,” John 1:47.
Showcasing SHA talent: We can show compassion like Nolan in 4th did and help someone in need.
