Our special Celebration Mass is slated for Wednesday, May 3rd at 8:45.  Your student can wear their First Communion dresses/suits/ nice clothing that day.  After the Mass, there will be a reception in the hall for the families and cookies will be provided to the other classes.  After the reception you are free to take your child with you for the rest of the day!  If you are unable to take your child with you, I will be in the classroom and show the remaining students a movie.  If you have any questions, please feel free to text me.  

We need two people who are willing to read the first reading and the prayers of the faithful at the First Communion Mass on Saturday.  Please don't be shy!  This is a great opportunity for your student to see you serving in the parish.  :)  Please let me know if you would like to do this.  I will get you the reading so you could practice.

Do you or your student ever wonder what reading level a certain book is, or how many points it is worth on an AR Quiz?  Well, there is an app for that!  It is called Points Scan.  Now while you are at Barnes and Noble you can find out this information before purchasing the book.  I showed how to use the app to the students - it is very simple!  (Yay!)  Below are the links to the Apple App store and the Google play store.

We are bringing a field trip to our class!  Artist / art teacher Susan Turley, of The Art Barn, will be coming to our class to instruct our class in creating a very special painting.  She will be with us on Thursday, April 27th.  The cost is $10, which includes all supplies and an 11 x 14 canvas.  Please have the fee to me by Tuesday, April 25th.  I know the class will have a wonderful time with Ms. Turley!

There is a religion test for chapter 12 on Tuesday, April 4th.  The class will do the chapter review on Friday and the books will be sent home on Friday afternoon.

Holy Thursday is the beginning of the Triduum - The three holy days before Easter.  Each year the Church has services dedicated to the Passion of Christ during these three days.  On Holy Thursday we remember the Last Supper and that Jesus washed the feet of his disciples.  Our priests and members of various church ministries wash the feet of parishioners.  (It is really just pouring water onto the feet and then drying.)  The church office has asked that we have one parent/child combo from the school be one that has there feet washed during this service.  Would any of you and your child be interested in volunteering for this very humbling experience?  This would be on Thursday, April 13th  at the 7:00pm service.  Please email or text me  if this is something that you and your child would like to do.  Thank you.

Students are to be in their liturgy uniform tomorrow. If it gets warm, the boys will be able to take off their vests, so please make sure their uniform parts are labeled with their names.  Also, have your student bring a canned / boxed food for Mass, if possible.  Thank you!

Please join me on Thursday, April 6th at 6:00 in the 3rd grade classroom.  I will be answering Frequently Asked Questions and maybe not so frequently asked questions you may have about First Communion.  I will be discussing the banner, attire, photographs, and the actual Mass.  if you have any specific questions, please either text me or email me the question.  I will gather them together and answer them that night.  This is a very special time for the children.  I hope to elevate any stress or worries you may have.  Thank you!!!

Our class will be going to Assistencia Convalescent home on Tuesday, April 21st.  I will send a permission slip home on Monday.  This is a very important field trip.  If you are able to drive, please let me know 

I told the class there would be a test on Chaoter 10 tomorrow.  I neglected to put our SLE Families activity on my lesson plans, SO the test is being moved to Monday.  Please let them know and show them this post if they don't believe you.  😊
