3rd grade LEAP students took a little "tropical vacation" today during class. We used our knowledge of rounding/estimating to the nearest ten to "hop" to the nearest island.

okay we're in third grade leave today and we are doing an activity called Island cough or we are learning how to round numbers to the nearest turn so the children are all on an island right now we took a little tropical vacation okay what island are you on 50 okay everybody please move to your right six bucks good so Melania you were on 50 and we're going to subtract 6 from that what but are you on now 44 good job please hop to your closest good Molina you went backward why didn't you started at 50 how come you're on 40 now 40  excellent very good let's try one more what island are you on you're on 30 okay cereal scream at me what is your Island number 70 let's move to the left 8 places good now jarriel what number are you on now  78 good job I'm going to swing way over here let me find 38 good job please talk to your closest island Cooper how come you have to hop over here your way far away why is that excellent couldn't have said it better myself Dariel what about you way down over here  why are you way over there on 80 and it was would be closer to the next 10 right all right good job guys can you say bye to Mom and Dad good Island hop
