my name is Evan will be showing you what a variable is how to find the value of a variable in an addition subtraction multiplication and division problem a variable is a letter or symbol used to represent an unknown or unspecified number the value of a variable may change my name is the first problem is 14 plus x equals 48 subtract 14 from the 14 so that you're left with just X and remember what you do to one side you do to the other so you subtract 4 from 48 as well  and you're left with x 34  now you will do a subtraction problem this problem is x - 2.6 equals 37 so as I said before you want to do the inverse so add 52.62 get EX as I said before what you do to one side you do to the other side so you add 52.6 + 37 to get 89 points so you're left with x equals 89.6 value of a variable in a multiplication and division problem the first problem I will be doing is 9  X equals 63 so first you would divide 9 bye so that you are left with only X and always remember what you do too inside you'll you do to the other side so you divide 63 by 9 which would get you 7  so which it would leave you with x equals 7 II who am I will be doing with you is going to be a division problem we will be finding the value of x in the the equation x / 6 equals 4 we would want you would multiply 6  by 6 so that you are left with only and what you do to one side you always do the other so you would multiply 4 times 6 which would get you 24  so that would leave you with x equals 24  thank you for watching Archer Oreo on equations with variables video helped you enjoyed it
