hello this is Victoria Eileen and Nicole the mignonette equation is a simple used to represent a quantity that can change an equation is a mathematical sentence that shows two expressions are equivalent using a variable examples of variables are X and Y  and an example of an equation is 4 + x see you don't know what the variable is not to show you some examples of equations we are going to start with Edition 8 equals y Plus okay so to figure out what the variable is you're going to do the opposite of plus four so you're going to subtract 4 and whatever you do to one side of the equal sign you did to the other two going to subtract 4 from an 8-4 is for you bring down the equal sign Batman 4 -4 answer is y equals 4 okay I know we're going to show you an example of subtracting equations with variables and example is -47 equals 18 okay so now Texas you have to add add 47 to  -47 and you do the same to the other side because 47 minus plus 47-47 Guevara X and green gummy cosine + 47 + 18 is 65 then we go today and now we're going to show you example of a multiplication equation with variable example is 3 x y equals 12 so to do desktop you have to divide 3 by 3  Eagles and then you bring down the Y so whatever you do to one side divided 12 divided by 3 equals 4 answer to this equation is for Haitian movie 15 equals R / 2  over to me look like a fraction but you can also be used as a division are the dividend is to as the divisor  we can save that for later okay so now notice how where is being divided by the number to so you will do the opposite and multiply both sides by the equation to  over 2 and 2 can be produced by using two into can you truly be with one but you don't use the one you just leave it as our  so now you do 2 * 15 which equals 30 so your answer to this equation would be 30  thanks for watching
