LEAP students took a short "tropical vacation" today as we played Island Hop. This activity got our bodies and our minds moving as we learned how to round numbers.

okay good morning it is Tuesday and we are in third grade leap we're outside today playing a little activity called Island hot so we're going to take a little tropical vacation the students are learning how to round numbers they're all on an island so let's see let's use you Tori what island are you on right now 40 good job and Isabella 50 okay based on your Island that you're on him go to the right four spots four steps to the right okay so Tori you were on 40 what number are you on now whatever cuz you're going backwards right so what number are you on yep okay Isabelle you were on 50 what number are you on now 46 good job okay Landon 5256 ever get the idea okay please hop to your closest island no to go back on 86 so when you're rounding at 6 tell the other number what to do right okay so let's try another round two this way down here let's go to these girls way over here move to the left Lily can you move to the left oh you're all the way in a hundred let's move to the right 7 places oh you're right in the middle of the ocean okay please hop to your closest island excellent good job Abigail how come you went backward because higher than 5 so we go higher okay because when you move 7 spots right you became closer to 10 then you were 220 alright let's do it go to our right 5 times okay we're over here Lily are you in the middle between 80 and 90 okay what number would you be on right now what number comes right in the middle what's up 85 your job okay alright this one's going to be able to hop to your closest island please which way were you laugh because if you were on a number that ended in 5 you had increase so you have to go in the other direction good job remember that rule of five that tells you what to do all right good job guys can you wave to Mom and Dad
