Pope Francis' Global Campaign Against Hunger

Sacred Heart Academy has taken up the cause to fight global hunger in response to Pope Francis' request.  Each class is doing something to contribute to the campaign.  The 3rd grade class is doing a couple of things.  First, each student will try to bring at least one can or box of food to the weekly school Mass.  If they want to bring more, they are very welcome to do so.  Second, we are going to have less food waste at snack time and lunch.  What this entails is if they don't finish the food in their snack or lunch, they don't throw the food away, but instead share with others or bring the food home to have for after school snack or to have for the next day's lunch.  Talk to your student about this endeavor.

Following is a youtube video of the Pope:

  • If any parents want to come, they are welcome, but need to coordinate transportation among each other and go through the main entrance.  I am at the maximum adults I am allowed to bring with our group.
  • I will send home an info sheet next Monday about what the students need to bring.

Below is a link to the permission slip if your student can't find theirs.  Form and $9 entrance fee is due Monday, Feb. 24th.
