Happy New Year!

We made it through our first week back to school. I wanted to wish you a wonderful New Year and also thank you for all the lovely Christmas presents. I feel truly blessed!

4th Grade Unit Conversion Word Problems

LEAP students use bar models to solve multi-step word problems. Great job 4th graders!

Telling Time Activity

3rd Grade LEAP students practiced time as continuous measurement by using an iPad stopwatch app.
We had a lot of fun in LEAP over the last 2 days. Each class participated in various Halloween math activities including coordinate graphing to create Halloween images, candy probability, decimal place value, iPad apps, and a fun game using pumpkin seeds as our manipulatives.
Have a wonderful and safe Halloween!

Notifications

Hello LEAP Families. I am not sure what happened this evening, but homework notifications seem to have been delayed by our website. I usually receive mine between 6:00-7:00 pm. This evening I received the notification at almost 11:00 pm. I apologize if this caused any inconvenience. Thanks, Mrs. Seter

Math Contest

Hello to our LEAP families.
I am so excited to share with you that our 6th graders will be competing in the Perennial Math competition. This opportunity was brought to my attention from Mrs. Williams through Sr. Linda from the Office of Catholic Schools San Bernardino Diocese. The Perennial Contest extends nationwide and our students have the opportunity to receive various awards and recognition (individually and as a team).
The contest consists of 4 tests from November-February. I have various study guides and we will be preparing 1-2 times a week during our regular class time. Your wonderful children are so excited to compete and show their knowledge. This is a new adventure for them and for me. I look forward to the challenge and the reward!
Contest price is approximately $100. We will be using "Adopt-a-Classroom" money to off-set the cost. Currently LEAP has obtained partial funding for Adopt-a-Classroom and we are still looking for assistance in sponsorship.
Thank you for your continued support and please know that I feel blessed everyday to work with your children.
