Homework Help

Hello Parents and Students.

Mrs. Williams has passed along a very useful website that can assist us with Engage New York curriculum. The videos are quite helpful and I think will benefit students and parents. When you visit the site, please go to "Parents & Students," then scroll down to the Engage New York page. All LEAP classes are currently learning Module 1, however the lesson number varies depending on the class.

Unfortunately at this time, videos are not available for all lessons. Hopefully new additions to the site are in the works. I hope this is helpful to you and please let me know if you have any questions.

We will also occasionally use this site in class. If possible, please provide a set of ear buds for your student to keep in our LEAP room. This will allow the kids to listen/watch videos without being disrupted by other iPads.

Thank you! Mrs. Seter

3rd Grade Columbus Day activity

Conner and Noah explain their Columbus Day activity "Asia at Last?"

3rd Grade "Applying Properties" Activities

LEAP 3rd Graders are learning the distributive property and order of operations. Alex and Morgan help to explain their thinking as they play a matching game.

5th Graders Pablo, Carlos, and Timothy use their knowledge of place value and adding/subtracting decimals to balance a checkbook. Good job boys!

Today our 6th graders shared their "Ratios All Around Us" project. They used iPads to research various ratios (sport teams win/loss records, amusement park prices, gas mileage, the cost of an iPhone, college faculty to students ratios, etc). Then, they used their creativity to make mini posters and presented their findings to the class. GREAT JOB!

Schedule for Next Week

I am unsure of our 3rd and 5th grade LEAP schedule for next week due to IOWA testing. Fourth grade will not be affected because testing takes place in the morning. Sixth grade will likely only have LEAP on Wednesday. Thank you and have a blessed weekend!

4th Grade Ticket Master

Today students worked with partners to put large numbers in order from least to greatest. They did a super job!
