Saints and religious activities/I Santi e le attivita' reigiose

San Giuseppe (St. Joseph) is our patron saint in 4th grade and we put the class under his protection at the beginning of each school year.  On March 19 we celebrate his feast day with a St. Joseph's table (La Tavola di San Giuseppe) that we have displayed at our morning assembly.  After assembly loaves of bread (or pretzels, etc.) and fava beans are given to all the grades.

We also honor Santa Maria Maddelena (Saint Mary Magdalene). She was the first to witness the resurrection of our Lord and proclaim the good news. We look to her as our model to be strong in our faith and go forth doing what God is calling us to do.

As a school community we honor our Blessed Mother Mary, especially in October with our focus on the Rosary, in December with the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and throughout the month of May beginning with our May Crowning.

And of course we also honor St. Francis of Assisi, St. Valentine and St. Patrick in particular on their feast days as a school community.
